Took it on the sand in Brigantine NJ, deep & packed sand. BTW, vets get free 4x4 permit.
I noticed that the mode options for mud/snow and baja rev a little too high than needed. The tranny stays low until very high rpms then shifts 1 at a time. I had to switch to paddle shifters when utilizing the mud/snow or baja.
So I did comparisons and noticed that:
The round knob manual selector’s 4h with lockers shifts different than the mud/snow mode 4h with lockers. (No high rpms & skips gears) AND shifts different when used with tow mode (shifts 1 at a time but faster shifts with lower rpms than mud/snow)
For me it drove a lot better using the knob selector, better gear shifts.
BTW, it drives so much smoother in sand than my Hummer, Avalanche and sportstrac, I went in with 46psi and had no issues in deep sand.
Pics coming soon
