Finally drove a Gen 2 Raptor tonight. Wow, what a great truck!

I was completely impressed with its acceleration and road handling. Yes, I know it was designed for the dirt but in all honesty it may see the dirt 12 times a year and 8 of those times I'll have dirt bikes in the bed. It will be my daily driver so 99 percent of its use will be on pavement so acceleration and road handling are important to me.

Being heavily into motorcycles and mountain biking a truck is a must. The Raptor, hauls butt on the street, in the dirt, and IMHO is the best looking truck made in many decades. Getting one is a no brainer, it's just when that I'm unsure of.

I say Aw Crap in the title because I don't really want to buy one quite yet as I live in So. Cal and prices are still stupid here. My plan was to wait a year, pay off my 16 FX4 XLT, and try to pay cash but now that I've driven one I may have to speed this process up.

Hopefully I can stay disciplined and wait for a 2019 model year but now I have got the bug really bad. If a dealer wants to sell one at MSRP I'll probably cave in. If not I'll wait it out a year and continue to droll when I see you guys drive by.

I would go out of state for MSRP. Even our Raptors here in PA come with California emissions.

I live here in Oklahoma; dealer here had 5, all at MSRP. Every single one was gone within a few weeks and only two stayed here in OK. They're selling all their allocations at sticker, PM me if you want their contact information.

A member here PMd me about an MSRP deal down here in So. Cal. It was pretty close to what I would have ordered 802A, white SCREW, with std wheels (wanted the bead locks).

I called the dealer a few times over an hour or so going back and forth over some details however the last time I called him he said the truck was sold. I should've probably taken his advice the first time and held it for 250 bucks. He said he would call me if the deal fell thru but I never heard back.

Bottom line though is at least I know it is possible for MSRP out here but if I don't find another at MSRP soon, ill probably just order out of state and get exactly what I want down to the last detail.

Maybe Ill buy one in North Texas, see a Cowboy game, and drive it home.
