Finally got the call from my dealer saying my raptor arrived. Its been a long 6 months almost lol. Hoping to go pick it up tomorrow. Paid MSRP 83689 CAD. I didnt order the tailgate applique but somehow it got thrown on, but i dont mind!

Sales person also told me my raptor had been selected for factory testing as he seen 160km on the truck D:.

Thanks man! It was definitely alot of money and was pretty close to not pulling the trigger on it because of that even after waiting since Jan 2015!

The tailgate thing is standard equipment in Canerduh as I recall. Congrats and make sure you tell us what you think of it.

Ah i heard that, but when i had gone in to build my truck (October)it was an add on option. Also my window sticker didn't reflect that add on (November Build), cause it would have increase by ~600 CAD. So it was a surprise.

Ya given what we were paying for GEN 1 that price would definitely give me pause. Even if I had the money now we are in high end German sportscar territory...i know its not everyone's cup of tea but i never thought about choosing between those two options. Also the resale value if the $ appreciates worries me a little...but none of that should matter at all if you can afford it and the truck puts a smile on your face.

Like other have said...do come back and tell us what you think of it especially if you do some snow driving.

Also forgot to ask...did you get a chance to ask the dealer how many they had/how the sales were on these as of now?

Price is high on the 802A but it does have most options that high end luxury cars have. Basically has all the luxury stuff my 2013 E63 Benz has minus the massage seat and even that's available on the Platinums and Limiteds... Plus all aluminum body, all aluminum engine, high dollar shocks. Nice thing is you can drop a lot of stuff and save money if you want. To be honest it feels like there's more value in this thing than any recent BMW/Mercedes I've driven.

Go drive a C43 coupe or M2...if you want to talk about driving fun and great value. Hell even a vette might be higher up on my list than the raptor. Of course the truck beats them all in utility but for me it would more of a toy than a dual purpose vehicle. Only thing that would hold me back would be depreciation when compared to the raptor...but we dont know what the depreciation on the GEN 2 will be. I would get a certified AMG/M car at least 2 years old or 30k on it. They really tank at that point and depreciation is steady after that. At that point of course better value than the raptor. Ya they have their bells and whistles...those cars I mentioned have Carbon fiber parts...

Raptor would be great value if it were somewhere in the range of GEN 1 here in Canada. At 65k it would be a great value...but for 23k more...not ever.
