Just not at low RPM and only when stock.

Facts matter, stoner. :smoke2:

...once again illustrating your lack of knowledge... "area under the curve" speaks to power/torque from idle to max RPM. In other words, average power throughout the entire RPM range. As you mentioned, facts matter. The facts do not support your position.

In regard to the "only when stock", sure... and if you're going to mod the 6.2L, then it only makes sense to mod the EB 3.5L... at which point it turns into a cubic dollars situation. Whoever spends more is likely to be the one that "wins".

Once again, illustrating your lack of reading comprehension and debate skills. I never argued that position. I stated in plain English that the Gen 2 makes more power. Just not at low RPM.

True that dollars tend to define overall power limits but the reality of the Taurus motor platform is that the more power you make, the driveability and lag just gets worse and worse, especially off road. And it's already not great.

Well, that's quite the change in your position, as I recall you earlier talking about flat torque curves and the like.

Sure, if it'll make you feel better, I'll give you that the 6.2L makes more power at idle than does the HO EB 3.5L. Congratulations... that achievement is akin to creating the world's most fire-resistant paper hat.

The long and short of it is that by 2k RPM (which is around the RPM at which I cruise on the highway), the HO EB 3.5L is walking away from the 6.2L and not looking back. The situations where you're much below that engine speed tend to be those where there isn't a lot of power needed... in other words, where you wouldn't be likely to go WOT, anyhow.

In regard to modifications, the long and short of it is that both engines can be upgraded to the point where they're no longer well-suited to the use case of a truck. The difference is that the Gen 2 can get there with fewer mods than the Gen 1. 400+ at the wheels is just a tune away for the Gen 2, where the Gen 1 needs at least cams if not a blower to get there.

No, it isn't a change in my position. At all. For you to say otherwise means you are either mentally challenged or dishonest and that's on top of being a stoner. In plain English, you are either a drugged up liar or a drugged up idiot.

More power through 2000 RPM. Stock. Now start modding. Real mods, not just stage 1 tooooonz.

The Gen 2 picks up even more boost lag and the Gen 1 makes even more power. Everywhere. Even at low RPM.

********. There's all kinds of situations where you need lots of power at low RPM. Like towing. Or even just going up a hill with a fully loaded truck (which weighs well over 3 tons).

That's a cute way to attempt to dismiss the fact that the Taurus motor is essentially useless in this application. These are heavy trucks. They need a lot more than 500 horsepower. And so far, it seems that the bottom end of the EB is not up to the task. And even once that all gets sorted out, you're going to wind up with tons of boost lag and a touchy throttle once you're making big boy power levels. And that's not to mention the durability and reliability issues. It's just not a good motor for this application. There's a reason why they put them in the Taurus and not the Super Duty.

Ford is not going to say anything or confirm anything right now. How many Ecoboost raptors would they sell If they released news on the V8 coming? The Ecobost Raptor will always be the Redheaded Step child of the V8 Gen2 Or Gen WON!
