So.. Since I just upgraded to the 2018 style keys, I decided to head to the garage and tinker with my 2017 keys to try to make one "stamp size"... I have a decent background in working with small electronics and circuit boards as I used to work in a radio repair shop in the military before I switched jobs.. So I was pretty confident I could cut down some size.

I started off identifying the proximity module and the corresponding paths and equipment to operate the system.. I then trimmed off any excess circuit board with my Dremel and a pair of shears. I then got the magnifying glass out and cut off the little button nubs and made sure they could never be "pressed" again. And finally the battery...The key uses two watch style batteries, the batteries are stacked in parallel, meaning I can just use one to achieve the correct voltage at the cost of battery like being cut in half. I soldered leads to each side of the battery and ran them to their corresponding terminal.

I cut a piece off one of my wifes super thin cutting boards and hid the chip and battery inside the cutout. Wrapped everything in electrical tape, and BOOM!!! IT WORKS! Its the size of a credit card and as thick as 3-4 credit cards. It fits in my wallet with zero issues.

If this holds up for a week or so, I'm going to spend some additional time creating a neater version instead of this super ROUGH one lol. I have plans for a billet aluminum credit card instead of using my wifes kitchen tools lol I will also include much more pics. these are a few pics before I cleaned everything up and make it look pretty. its bed time and I was rushing lol

I'm not quite as ambitious as you, but I thought about taking off the back, filing down the brackets that hold the key, and removing the key ring. That would cut the size and weight down dramatically.

It looks like the key blades are sold out now, see below:
New 164-R8168 OEM Proxy Smart Key Blade Emergency Insert Replacement for Ford

Is there another source to get one?

Will this one work?

MAKE SURE IT IS OEM! I had to return one because it was a similar listing, said it would fit an f250 key. Well it was after market and did not fit at all. Make sure the listing specifically says oem.

Edit. Your does not. It looks to be aftermarket. Stay away
