So you're saying if he spends $45k upgrading an old raptor, he will be able to beat the stock '17. Fascinating.

Actually if you spend that much, you will beat most things off-road that can be ordered and delivered. Shelby is adding their name thus you are paying for that name. Beating something or someone is subjective. Someone who off-roads and is an excellent driver when on dirt can beat someone in a modded raptor in their stock raptor. And to say that a raptor off-road can beat something is hard to say because I don't see too many people even here racing their trucks. We go to off-road events to have fun and its not a race.

Does anyone think the new Raptor will be able to run with a Shelby Raptor (performance wise)? I know the exact horsepower and torque haven't been released yet. But I wonder with the added horsepower (they say it will have) and the reduction in weight.

It's already been stated a few times that gen 2 trucks are faster than blown gen 1 trucks.

Meeeow it's getting kinda catty up in hur. Both trucks are pretty ladies. In their own special way. No one can throw their curves around like gen 1. Being a little lighter and more efficient is kinda cool too. I love you both for very different reasons.

Gen 2 will be just fine once tuners get their hands on them, I'm sure a nice tune and cat delete will get another 50-70HP. Than once the tuners start to upgrade the turbos, game over for Gen 1.

Stated where and by whom? Doesn't seem very likely.

ADD based on their shelby vs their 2017 pre-production trucks.

Note that it was a Shelby, and not necessairly ANY blown 6.2. You can get a 6.2 to put out quite a bit more power than comes standard on the Shelby.

That being said, it's still impressive.
