The SSTs are built on the same carcass as the Mickey Thompson and **** Cepek tires, from what I have heard, as they are both owned by Cooper.

As far as the BFG 37's go, they are the "other" compound that is available on the other 315 BFG ATs. The compound that comes stock on the Raptor is softer.

I have them, great in mud and not bad in trails at HAVOC but I didn't like them in the snow.
Now that I've had them for a year they slip and slide a bit when it gets wet outside.
I will not buy them again but that's my opinion.

Good info Ironman...thanks for the feed back. I go to the snow several times a season to snowboard, so snow and rain performance are factors for me.

And with all the feedback regarding the 37 bfg in the "other" compound, i'm leaning towards those now. I do remember reading about the "other" / "Non Raptor" compound on here, I think Stoner mentioned that. I'll have to look it up and see which one to get.

One thing about the coops is they are designed for light trucks. While a 1/2 ton is considered a light truck it's really not in that class. Also taking into consideration it's one of those tires that they take advantage of not listing the wear grade. Which always means softer compound. I have em on my z71 plow truck. Second year and they're about half cooked. (last year wasn't that bad a winter either) for whatever that's worth.

I had them on a FJ Cruiser and really liked them for the price. I never had problems with mine chunking. I'm also considering these when I get my Methods
