I have a 2013 raptor with fox 3.0s front/back.
I’m running 37in BFG tires right now, no fiberglass and they work fine.

I purchased the +4 2in fiberglass and want to get bigger tires. Don’t plan on getting any long travel system right now. I want to run a 39 or 40in tire. I’ve looked up answers but can’t seem to find anybody actually doing it. What do I need to do to make it work. Mainly because I like the look, but also want it to function off road as it does now.

Please let me know how to go about this

39's can be done. Walter Burch and Donnie Steele on Facebook have done it. I'd assume to run hard you're going to need to do some firewall trimming which isn't going to be the most fun.

Edit to add. Your Power steering will not thank you for doing this mod.

Ok! Do you know if they are running the stock suspension setup? Or more advanced long travel?
As of now I wouldnt be doing any upgrades suspension wise, but would like to use the bigger tires.

Walters was on 3.0s AFAIK, Steele is on some other advanced shit.

If you really are intent on trying this, Look for some used ones you can mount and try out. It'll be REAL apparent where trimming and rubbing is taking place.

Also, like I said, your steering rack is NOT going to like you.

Ok thanks!

I have the Howe power steering system from RPG. But the steering rack is stock, but that makes sense now that you mentioned it

I am currently running 37" BFG Baja T/A and had to trim/ bend pinch welds on the firewall. which will soon turn into cutting into and push back the firewall and fabricate then weld a plate onto it after. with that being said if you are trying to go 39/40 then you will have to modify for sure. I am running KING 3.0, SVC UCA's, & tie rods, when off-roading and turning sharp the tire is rubbing pretty gnarly against the firewall. the only other time that it rubs is when in reverse and turning sharp. I do know that Donnie Steele is running somewhat the same setup, but his setup is more advanced and running 39"

Mines Podium and I roll the lower all the way ahead with the adjustments before i welded it up. Firewall will need to be moved for clearance at compression though.

What wheel backspacing are you running? Will make a world of difference.
