Greg, so your suggesting to stay away from a 17x9 0mm offset (5.00" backspacing)? I want to get as close as possible to the offset of the Methods, and I wont be doing much offroading.

That should work with no problems or issues...

So what is the main issue with the negative offsets? The fact that you need to be at top perch not to rub, and that is whats causing the increased stress on the cv axles? Like I said, I will not be doing a lot of offroading, but I sure don't want to lose the ability to. If I go with the 17x9 0mm offset (5.00" backspacing), at mid perch, am I looking at any possible issues down the road?
