Joe,
I thought I had posted this before...
I have had two Dodge Cummins pickups, a '98.5, and a 2004.5. When the unit bearings went I put in the Dynatrac Dana 60 replacement kit, (98.5), and the Spyntec Dana 60 replacement kit, (2004.5). The kits were very well made and simple to install. (The Spyntec had the bearing races already pressed into the new hubs; otherwise the same).
I would think that instead of engineering a whole new system, adapt a well tested and virtually bombproof system would be advantageous. The spindles would have to be drilled to fit the Ford knuckles; the hubs drilled for the 6 x 135 mm bolt pattern. Warn, MileMarker, Dynatrac, and other manual locking hub manufacturers could cast a puck that would mesh with the splines for the outer stub axle and you could have manual locking hubs, as well as serviceable bearings...

Eddie
