Well I was installing a new onx 6 light bar today and looked under the truck and noticed a trans leak coming out of the bottom of the bell housing . Has anyone experienced this ? If so any help with part ordering and other things to replace while I am in there . I am temped for a shop to do it but I have trust issues . I am thinking pump seal and torque converter seal ?

I had a similar leak from the bellhousing and this is what it looked like inside...

Dirt_1_zpslmgdglz0.jpg

Lots of Oceano Dunes sand up in the housing. Since I've had this minor (more of an annoyance dip here and there on the garage floor) for almost a year. Finally had my mechanic look and found the converter seal was leaking.

What we don't know is if the sand got up in there and ate away at the seal causing the leak or if the leaking fluid caused the sand to just build up in there.

Good thing is you can remove 2 bolts that hold a converter cover plate at the bottom of the bellhousing and take a look and see if the converter seal is leaking. If there is any dirt clean it out!

This was a $1400 repair for a $11 part. Warranty covered me this time :)
