I'm considering going with the RPG PSR, or the universal Howe PSR. I haven't had any issues yet. Just want to upgrade for preventive measures. Did any of you previously have power steering issues? If so which products did you purchase and did they remedy your problems? I've got the cooler SDHQ offers and trying to decide which route to go with the reservoir, especially with the new Howe pump out. I'd go with the Howe kit, but $1000 is a lot. Wondering if the Howe PSR in the kit is the same as their universal one? If so I could go that route a piece at a time. Also curious if it would work with the cooler I already have?

Check out the icon one. I run it with the cooler. Works good. These pumps get hot running at high rpm. The res helps fluid cavitation.

Since you are looking at this level of upgrade you must be planning on some serious off roading, cool! We have had our share of issues with the PS system. The plus side to the Howe setup is larger capacity and the spin off filter. We are waiting for the TC pump to show, apparently the brackets are not done yet. We tried the modified pump, with the large tank and inline billet cooler, it did not hold up. This next setup will be the new pump and a Setrab cooler w twin fans. Past that we are looking at adding a ram setup ala Chris Ross's setup, we will see.

By appearance and description the Icon is similar to the RPG and Howe PSR's, however more expensive. I had almost decided to go with the RPG, but with the release of Howe kit including the pump I'm second guessing that choice. The universal Howe PSR comes with a filter which is a plus; for the same price as the RPG one. I would pick that one if I knew it was the same PSR as in their kit. Believe the caps look slightly different, but the body is the same. Regardless it's good to hear only the Icon PSR and cooler works well for you.

Many of the miles on my Raptor were some form of off-road play. I've over heard many complaints of different power steering components failing. Knock on wood (currently searching for something wooden to knock on) mine is still kicking. Usually I wait for something to fail or break it before I replace it, but trying to protect against that in this instance.

I installed the RPG last PSR last weekend. I was a quick and easy. Looks good and a noticeable difference in the steering...more in control. I won't say a loser feel, but an easier feel to turn...

Yes the PSR gets hot...ask me how I know...

Plus the RPG looks cool...

Can't speak to the others!

Pics of mine and the fluid I use...
