I don't disagree with the sentiment of your post but they are only 500lbs apart.

lol i know mine calculates in at 5851 as a basic 802a with full tank of gas. what does a screw gen 1 weigh in at? i was going off memory but we know that can be foggy at times.

GVWR SuperCab: 7,050 SuperCrew: 7,450

tech specs i found just now. so 400-500lbs is more realistic.
same calculation would be gvwr-payload=weight. on the above numbers that comes to 6280 for a 14 screw.

I don't know if the transmission has that much to do with how quick the new truck is. I think it's the 500+lb ft of torque lower in the rpm range and the weight that makes the G2 quicker than a G1. If you compare the 2015 Ecoboost F150 to the 2017 Ecoboost F150 the 2017 has the 10 speed and more HP and TQ but it's actually slower depending on which publication you're looking at.

C&D 2015 F150 = 14.4 1/4 mile
C&D 2017 F150 = 14.7 1/4 mile

But if 10 more hp and 50 more tq = a slower 1/4 mile. The 10 speed might be slowing the G2 down.

Just another way to look at it. Get a blower and a good tune is your best band for the buck for the G1
