So there's a lot of speculation on this new 7.0 motor. It could be based on the 6.2, but the 6.2 failed the 1000 hour test, and Ford would have to completely redesign it to use it for heavier classes. Some are hinting that the new 7.0 will be a completely new design with pushrods.
My question is how far will you go to accommodate it in the Gen 1 Raptor?
If it's the 6.2 block with different crank, bore, and stroke, I'm sure you would be all over it, offering and 7.0 upgrade over the 6.6. But, if it's an all-new motor with pushrods and direct injection, would the task be too difficult to accommodate in the Gen 1?
Curious to hear your thoughts, Livernois. I'm looking to do a complete motor when my '14 is paid off, and a 7.0 option would be pretty cool.
