Gotta be expensive on a 19 year olds budget :)

First off, there are no "chips" for the raptor. Most of us use the SCT Tuner that can be loaded with the modified tune from the tuner of your choice.

I run the 5 star 93 performance tune that rocks. The econo and performance tunes will get you a bit better than what your getting out of your truck. I get 11-13 around town depending on how I drive and avg 17-18mpg on the highway @ about 60-65mph.

This is a raptor though, you shouldnt expect good gas mileage really. There are already a bunch of posts about tunes and mpg, check them out with the search function. Lots of good stuff to read.

Hope that helps,
Jeff

My truck just rolled over 10k last weekend and I get about the same mileage you're getting.

The 3k mi. mark is where it seems to get better. Myself and others have noticed a significant improvement after that. I'm averaging 14mpg per tank and see 15-17 on the hwy. Keep in mind that terrain (hills and such), fuel used and driving habits will differ.....especially driving habits.

I notice for about 1000 miles after an oil change my average mpg goes up by 1. I usually average 12.5 (by the computer, not exact) but after an oil change it goes up to 13.5

I was gettin 11.5-12 before I put my Airaid on. It got a tad better milage in town but no differance on the highway. I removed the Airaid and went back stock, hated the noise, but I replaced the OEM paper filter with a WIX paper filter. The Wix has about 30 - 50 % more paper to it. Longer or taller pleats. I put that in and milage picked up to 12.5- 13 now.

My average over 8200 miles has been a solid 12.4. That includes a road trip from DFW to Colorado and back with a bike in the bed. Drive like grandma on my way to work and get as much as 15. But when I get home after traffic and a lot of full throttle manuvers it reads 11.5. AHhahaaaaa.

My worst tank was an average of 8 mpg. It sure was fun because it was all in town on city streets!

I've got ~7k miles and I'm usually at about a solid 10mpg. I can pull 17+ on the highway at about 65 or so, but where's the fun in that? SW long tubes, high flow cats, S-tube mufflers, AFE and custom SCT tune.
