this is one of the reasons why Ford doesnt allow the rear axle to be locked over 25 mph in the gen2s. Shock load, like you mention will tear apart the rear axle/carrier due to the way the spiders are designed and how the case is supported.

If you want the rear locker in 2wd high at higher speeds, your one choice is go aftermarket.

Looks like you've already been given a plethora of links/options. I would make sure that you check the center section, carrier and gear tolerances/condition. It seems very odd to me that the axle shaft would have broken like that, but all teeth/gears/etc are damage free.

In off-road mode the rear stays locked, look it up.

it's more likely that you got wheel hop when you hit good pavement, add that you had wear and too much back lash.

really sucks though.

Also the F150 is a different length then the Raptor. As far as I can remember.
Or is it 2009-2011 is different from 2012-2014.
Someone research and please inform us.

The axle housing, and therefore the axles, are wider in all Raptors vs all other F150s.

2010-2011 Raptors have 34 spline axles.
2012-2014 Raptors have 35 spline axles.

Not sure if Ford or their suppliers is making them anymore. If not, it's time to get someone like Moser or Strange involved and have them start marking the correct replacement axles as a stocking part number.
MTF likes this.
