Sorry if this has been asked before. Have read through as many similar posts as I could and didn't seem to find the exact same issue/solution. Thanks for any responses.

2014 Raptor 6.2L with 49,675 miles on it. I recently picked it up used. After getting onto the freeway with a good amount of acceleration, noticed a slight ticking noise when idling and driving at low speed with the passenger window down. Noise seems to be coming from top passenger side of the engine. This noise is not only at start up and makes the noise no matter how warm/long the engine has been driven. I did not notice the noise before hand. Cannot notice the noise with the windows up. Almost sounds like something small is stuck on the tire and making a noise each rotation, but it has to do with or ontop of the engine, when parked idling etc. Seems to slightly increase in speed when pressing gas pedal. After driving some more and using more power the noise becomes more prevalent. Anyone have any ideas what it might be? Lifter noise, Spark plug, Canister purge valve/EVAP purge valve, fan? Thanks, Andrew

It doesn't sound to me like the CPV, that noise if ticking is much more rapid and more prominent at the driver's side top rear of the engine. My guess is spark plug/wire arc, at least that's where I'd start...

Thanks for the reply Ben. I agree, after searching I found other videos of spark plug wire arcing and they sound identical to the noise I’m hearing. Trucks with a mechanic this morning for a tire patch and tune up and I’m having him check the wire for arcing.

Nice, would be interested to hear what they find!
