They sit higher and closer to the body of the truck. More clearance is always a good thing.

Do they mount with the same type of connection as the OEM? Those brackets hang down and look like they're sure to get caught if sliding over stuff...wondering if these have a smooth underside?

They mount with the same 4 bolts add the OEM side steps. These are not rock sliders.

Here is the underside. You can see that the linex guy put a bead of caulking in the seems before linexing. This will help keep the best salt out of there.

Just a note to others, if you have them linex, tape of the mounting surfaces. The thickness of the linex will make it a bitch to install.

I like the way these look...can anyone attest to the fact that they do keep the truck from getting peppered? I'm getting tired of here the stones hitting the truck :-(

i like the shape and the look. Can someone tell me the difference between these and OEM boards as it relates to protection from rocks?
