To anybody that has led light bars behind the grill... How much does it affect the output of the light, lets say a 40incher? Rigid or Blackhawk?

Most of the guys running the bar behind the grill say it cuts about a quarter if the light output down

There was a post somewhere on here where someone actually measured the light behind the grill, to no grill. I want to say it was closer to 50% if i remember correctly.

The grill blocks about 40% of the light from the Rigid 40" E-Series. The combo lights are impacted more than the spot lights. The lights look good behind the grill and might be safer from thieves.

primary reason why I will not go this route. It is just a waste. But it does look good.

I had my 40" Rigid behind the grill, but moved it out to my ADD bumper. If you're going with behind the grill I would recommend the version that only has spotlights. The combo light bar has spot and flood lights. I believe the floods are impacted the greatest by the grill. However, I fully support the idea of behind the grill light bars. You get exactly what you pay for, considering it's going behind the grill.

Depends on if you plan to get an aftermarket bumper. I plan on that, but got a great deal on a 40" LED bar so I went with the combo. It will work perfectly once I have it mounted to the front of the bumper.

But yes, it's closer to 50% reduction in light output. I feel my 20" and 40" seem to have the same light output and my 40" is behind the grill and 20" is in the lower grill opening where the license plate usually covers up.

How are those flush mount small quad lights coming. Im ready to buy/Beta
