I got the same letter. I'll dump the stock tune back in the truck about a week before I take it in for service and then as soon as I get it back I guess I'll undo whatever they did by putting the tune back in it. lol

I figure I have a few months to see what the real impact will be.

I received the official recall notice yesterday, Safety Recall Notice 16S19, Customer Satisfaction Program 16N02. Ford may also install a new transmission molded lead frame, they are increasing the manufactures warranty for this part to 150,000 miles. I will dump my tune and take it in but when I reinstall my tune it probably will erase the fix, not sure.

Interesting, so they are fixing it and giving a warranty on the fixed part or the entire transmission?

Safety Recall 16S19 / NHTSA Recall 16V-248
Customer Satisfaction Program 16N02

intermittent failure of the transmission output speed sensor (OSS)
may result in unintended downshift into 1st gear

FoMoCo has authorized your dealer to reprogram the
Power Control Module with software that will prevent an
unintended downshift into 1st gear.
As stated above the leadframe warranty will be extended to 10 years
or 150,000 miles whichever occurs 1st.
This is a one-time repair of OSS / replacement of leadframe
(to be determined by the dealer) for the freebie .
If you have already the mileage limit, program will last through 12/31/2016.

So, my question is:
Does a SVC tune affect the Power Control Module?
And if it does
Will the SVC tune negate the need for a FORD reprogram?
And if not
Will reinstall of the SVC tune negate the Power Control Module reprogram?
And
Will there be an "upgrade" to the SVC tune to remedy this?

I took mine into the dealer today to get the recall fix. Took about 30 minutes. Not sure they worked on it the whole time. I did wonder why the mechanic took his soda with him on the test drive. And why it took two guys for the test drive. He also managed to find several mud holes to drive through. That dealership sucks anyway. Only time I have ever been back. I have a 2012 Scab.
