How To Stainless Works Headers

Catted. I saw the leak from the passenger side. Shut her down and retorqued. Now i don't see a leak just smell gas from the engine bay and an obnoxious ticking.

Sure it's gas and not oil smell? No dipstick tube will give off a smell. U need to pull the starter back off to get the tube back in......trust me I know......I did the same thing lol

Hmmm that might be it. That damn tube was a pain in the balls. I just plugged the hole. Tried for a while to get that tube in and just couldnt. Said f it after a while.

so after the reinstall everything seems a bit better, though i do get that slow acceleration and puffing down low, around 1100 rpms through about the 1400 rpm range then she shoots out like a bat out of hell. i may have a couple of loose clamps...not seeing any visible signs of a leak from the headers so i'm not sure what i could be missing. no gas smell anymore or smoke which is a good sign. i'll probably take her down to krazy house next week and have them give her a one over. taking a trip down to NC and don't want to have any issues while i'm away from home.

Did you put any rtv in the slip joints? Someone recommended that to me after the fact and I'm probably gonna go back and do that. I can already see two spots where it's leaking from the welds that I had done but the puffing sound is coming from more towards the front. There's a lot of clamps up that way that could've come loose. Sounds like you got it all taken care of though. Congrats

no rtv on the slip joints...actually drove over some speed bumps at work nice and slow, windows down and no radio...i can hear some squealing so i may have something loose. i'll take a look hopefully today, may save me a trip to khc

any pictures of the location of the motor monts .. im stuck on the 4 bolt on the front of the engine and i need my truck back .. its been about 2 months and i need help!!!
