I found a good deal on a borla muffler. It has a 2.5 inch inlet and dual 2.5 outlets. Stock is 3 inch inlet dual 2.5 outlets. Will this borla adversely affect performance?

I don't know the technical answers to your question. But I wouldn't roll the dice. I would stick with a 3" inlet. I am thrifty as well and always look for the less expensive route, but as expensive as our trucks are and as much as we pay for the performance, I'd pay the extra bit for 3". Just my opinion, but hope that helps some.

Are you looking at the Pro XS? Going from a 3" to a 2.5" single inlet is not recommended. The difference in price between the mufflers is so small compared to your total investment in the truck why take a chance in losing HP by potentially causing a restriction like this?
