I like the install. I've been looking at the Icom F5021, but I kind of like the detachable faceplate idea. I'll have to check them out.

What Jones fails to mention is the (un)Availability of that particular unit! After he sent me the install pics a while back, I decided I could do the same thing, but no dice. The 208H is discontinued. I've been looking for a similar unit without much luck.

I had a similar idea for my Icom, but it's not detachable face so I found a pretty good spot. I haven't finished the install yet - I'll post it up when I do later this week.

I think it will work really well for someone who doesn't mind cutting holes in the dash :)
