USB with Navigation Question...

Hi there,

I want to put an iPod in the glovebox of my truck and still keep the usb outlet in the front to charge my phone. Does the factory navigation head unit have a 2nd usb port on the back? Running two separate usb ports is ideal and running a splitter is not ideal...

any help on this is super appreciated.

Do a search for this. There is one underneath the center speaker in the dash.

yeah, i checked that thread out, it seems that the thread pertains to a late model f-150, im not even sure its the same navigation system. has anyone actually torn their dash apart and seen the port?

you don't need to tear your dash apart. you just have to lift the speaker that's on your dash and it's right under there. you plug in, and route the cable where you want. to your glove box or center console... the write up from the f-150 forum on page 2 of this thread is perfect for our raptors. same setup...

how difficult is it to file down the usb1 plug to put it in usb2. is it a lil shave or big. what exactly are you filing down.
