Crutchfield does a good job of researching the sizes: Car Selector
Click the Speakers link and it shows you the sizes.

I would recommend either Alpine or JL as mid-high end speakers. Crutchfield also offers a lot of support. They are expensive but sometimes worth it.

If you are just looking for some bass and do not want to spend the money and have room restriction problems. I just installed one of these in my buddies Toyota Tundra, and I am impressed for the money and how small it is. It hits pretty damn hard.

I have the Sony system that comes with the Raptor(an option? it was in the truck). It also has the 700w compact sub under the back seat. This system has more than enough sound for me thou I'm not one who opens all his doors and gives an outdoor concert for everyone on the beach and I'm officially now an old fart.

let's just be honest. that sub is nowhere near 700w....i don't care what they say. RMS and MAX are two very different ratings. the 700W listed on our subs means it might be able to handle 700W for a split second, then it would blow. RMS 700W would make your brain shake.

for the sake of comparison brink...here is the setup i had in my FJ. 2 JBL 10" woofers with a 1000w RMS amp. I had it cranking around 800W RMS in a custom vent tuned box that I built and then had Rhino Lined. And see how those subs say "1600w"...they were 1600w max and 400 RMS power handling. I was pushing them pretty close to the limit.

Bird, not arguing that it probably isn't but that is just what it say's on the box and I do know the difference in the two. I have played in a few bands in my day(looooong ago) and know what real sound is. Try a Marshall 100watt stack cranked(especially an older tube model) and you will think you have heard loud they can make your ears bleed.............
