Hey guys, I have my truck apart, I see the empty wires behind the glove box. I want to hook the remote wire from the amp to Aux switch 4 so that has to be on for power. How do I go about doing this? I just have the remote wire sitting behind the dash now....everything else is hooked up.

Do a search on upfitter switches.

There is also a good write-up on the z-forum.

If I may, I think he was saying that we have a few good, informational threads on this site so there's no need to refer someone elsewhere....

OK so from my understanding, I will just solder the remote wire into one of the empty sets under the glove box which will then consist of 3 wires, my remote, the wire the goes to the switch and the wire that goes to the engine compartment. Then I just hook the respective wire under the hood up to create the power connection?

Would this work well with a remote wire from and amplifier?

So.....as it comes from the factory, each of the aux wires behind the glovebox are "hot". If you want power outside tha cab you connect them to the four wires going thru the firewall. If not, connect anyone of them (they are all fused to different power levels) to the positive wire from your device and connect the device ground lead to a nearby ground to complete the circuit.

Does that make sense?

whats wrong with going to accessory under the dash? why does an amp need to be on the switch?

My thought exactly. There us a fuse box by the passenger footwell. Plenty spots to do a add a fuse for keyed power...that's what I did
