Someone really needs to confirm the right model and throw one in the scab. I don't wanna guinea pig it lol.

eh screw it. Just ordered one of these

09 thru 14 F150 Genuine Ford Kicker 200 Watt 10" Subwoofer Kit Extended Cab | eBay

Keep this thread updated. I'm 99.99% sure the scab model takes up all the room under the rear driver side seat.

I hope I'm wrong and it is a drop in replacement for the Sony single seat
The pictures suggest that it installs on the drivers side. I wonder if there is enough room for the jack mount on the passenger side, where the factory sub sits now?

I'll definitely be finding out, hopefully shortly. I'll keep the thread updated.

That is what I'm thinking of. Replace the speaker and install a higher wattage speaker, just retain the enclosure.

Give that a read through. The Sony 8 inch is actually a decent little sub. It's the junk enclosure and tiny amp holding it back. If you are thinking about swapping another 8" in it will make very little improvement. For the money you are better off going with a 10" in a custom enclosure and bigger dedicated amp.

here, on frf
using the oem box for a diferent sub wont work. there is a threaded hole in the oem sub where the box bolts to it. this is necessary so the box has some rigidity. no subwoofer has that hole. and any better sub you put in there is going to move more air than what that box can handle and will also be too small

Anyone tried or thought about replacing the Sony with a Kicker square sub? A Solo-X 10" is supposed to be pretty nasty. Although I've been out of the sound system game for quite some time now.
