I have a 2014 with the Sony upgrade. Passenger speaker is going out on me. I don't want to replace with OEM. Looking for something a little better without dropping to much money. Local audio place recommended the JL Audio C1-650 component speakers. Said they would just have to fab a back plate for the door speaker. Will they fit in the front door without a back plate or is it needed? Also thinking of going with the C1-570x coaxial for the back. Open to suggestions. Thanks for any help

They are 5x7 in all four doors so anything other than that you'll need a backing plate. I went with the C5-570 front and the C5-570x for the backs with no complaints.

I saw those...much easier to install but a little pricey

I went with the C5s also, but the 650 model, so I just had them fab the Back plate

Total upgrade was a 13.5 sub, C5s in the front C1s in the rear, 500x4 amp for the separates and a 1000x1 for the sub.
