Apparently my truck used to have one of these in it, if only for a day or two:
Vehicle Security System - Alarm | The Official Site for Ford Custom Accessories
I bought my truck (2011 Screw) new in 2010, I think it'd been on the lot for at most a couple of days. Apparently they installed this add-on alarm and then removed it (I think it was an optional purchase and I declined to buy it).
A month ago my truck refused to start with the key. It still started via remote start, but turning the ignition to start did nothing. When I took it in today, dealer informed me that it had had some kind of "aftermarket alarm" in it. I called the O.G. dealer, and sure enough, that was the case, they even gave me the part number 7L3Z-19A361-BB (at least it's a Ford branded item).
The cause of the failure was that a "wire fell out" as a result of the aftermarket alarm being removed.
I just want to go check everything and make certain that "wire fall out" will not be a problem in my future.
