I have a CB mounted in my truck to the center speaker tray. Remove the rubber mat and there are two screws to remove. Unclip the speaker and you can pull the tray out. I drilled out the dimple in the tray for the power and antenna cable, and made a mount for the CB bracket and longer screws to attach the CB. I ran power down the center of the dash on the pass side to the 12V outlet for power. I ran the antenna cable down the driver side. There is a flap in the carpet and a large rubber grommet through the firewall. I cut a small slip in the grommet and slapped some RTV down to seal things back up. Ran the Antenna cable down the frame to the bed. Popped out one of those plastic cap things in the bad and built and antenna mount to the tie down in the bed. For best results I would run the cable between the bed and cab to a magnet mount on the roof.

Here is the best pic I have handy.

Is that radio the Magnum Minimag? if so, how do you like it?

Has anyone installed a CB in their Raptor? I am looking for something that I:

1) Don't have to drill any holes
2) Don't have a huge box hanging off the side of my center console

Anyone?

I'm in the same boat as you , I want to install a radio but I dont want it to be visible when I'm not using it and I dont want to permanently alter the truck to mount it.

I've been looking at the Magnum minimag and the Cobra 75 wxst Amazon.com: Cobra 75WXST 40-Channel CB Radio: Car Electronics but I dont know how well either would work.

It might be, don't remember. It works OK, not as good as my Radioshack one that is even smaller.

With my set up, you put in connectors for the lines, the you undo the connectors, undo the screws, pull the CB. Slap the rubber mat back down and you will never know it was there.

Can you take some more photos of the way you have it mounted?

I've been looking at the Magnum minimag and the Cobra 75 wxst Amazon.com: Cobra 75WXST 40-Channel CB Radio: Car Electronics but I dont know how well either would work.

This is what I have come up with so far. I also have been looking at the Cobra. Looking at page 6 of the manual it comes with a mount point for the handset:

https://cobra.com/Manuals/75WXST.pdf

It looks like this installed:

I found this pic of someone that just strung the cable from behind the dash:

But I like the connection port hard mounted. I also found this install where the guy cut into the dash:

For the antenna the best mount I have found so far looks like this:

You can get one for our trucks from here:

AUF4-L CB Antenna Mount for 2008 to 2011 Ford Pickups

TheCBWorld guys have been pretty good about answering my questions. They cost a little more but their customer service has been good so far. Still not 100% sure what I am going to do but this is what I am headed towards right now.

Those set ups are popular and work well in other vehicles. I have seen a lot of the Hummer guys just make a small metal bracket on the bottom of the dash to connect the mic. Out of the way if you are not using and a magnetic antenna and you never know you have one.

I think a Mag mount or the fender mount will give you the best reception.

I'll try to get more pictures tonight, but I will probably forget because I have baby duty. I mounted mine the way I did because I like the functions the box type radios use and could mount a GPS or VHF box radio in place of the CB later

I will start by saying I am an idiot. I can spell "radio" 50% of the time. Please don't yell at me....

Can I buy a UHF/VHF radio like the ICOM 2820H and program it to communicate over the 40 CB channels? If yes, is that legal? And would I need more than one antenna?

That radio no. There are several radios on the market that can transmit on UHF/VHF and HF, (CB frequencies are HF) but require them to be modified to transmit on CB (also not cheap). As long as you don't exceed the maxim power limit for CB (4 wats) you will be fine. You would definitely have to use two separate antennas with a radio like that. One for UHF/VHF and one for CB.
