We've decided that a pop-up camper is probably the best option to suit our needs. We've been looking at some used ones locally but are disapointed with the condition that they are in and the prices being asked by the sellers. So we've decided to make a trip out to the only local dealership that sells pop-ups. Unfortunatley, they only sell one brand (Forest River/Flagstaff) making it difficult to compare.

Have any of you ever compared pop-ups? If so, did you look at any Forest River/Flagstaff brand?

Thanks!

Now your talking! We got our pup this past fall. We found it on Craig's list. Only been out in it twice so far, and we love it. It is a 2002 Colman Niagara. It is one of the larger ones. What we love about it the most, is that the dinning area pops out the side. It really makes the pup seem like a small cabin.

Now word of caution, I would not recommend a Colman or Fleetwood ( made by the same manufacturer). They went out of business about4 years ago or so. Also, the years made in 2000's have ABS roofs, which crack and can leak. The repair on them is very difficult. And the roof gaskets separate, which is really expensive to fix and hard to find a replacement. About $250 for a replacement. Bought one yesterday!

Check out this forum, there is some really great discussion on there and advice for new or soon to be new pup owners.

You really have to decide what you need in a pup. Like a shower, or lots of sleeping space, or AC. once you know that, you can narrow it down.
Good luck, let us know what you are considering.

We just put the deposit down on this badboy! Picking it up on Saturday. :headbang:

It was one of the few that we found that had 15" offroad tires and higher ground clearance.

It's surprisingly roomy inside. Includes A/C, 20,000 BTU furnace, hot water heater, 3-way refrigerator, 20 gal fresh water tank, and 3-burner stove.

They are pricey, does it have an outside shower ? Oh looks like it.
And I hope your not as tall as I am, But then your not going to spend weeks in it. Just get out of the weather (hot or cold) and have room to lay down for some of that wild pop up trailer sex !

Haven't really looked at pop ups but we are looking at a light weight trailer, called an R-pod by forest river. Only 2500 pounds and pretty roomy.

The r pod is not bad. A lot more cramped and expensive than a pop up for the same money though. Use rvusa.com to search for the best prices right now.
