Trail Finder - Free maps and info for off-roading areas in San Diego

I created an online map to locate public lands in San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties. It brings all publicly accessible lands together in one map to make them easier to find. Many of the areas aren't documented or mapped anywhere else on the Internet.

Select Motor Vehicles from the Filter menu to only see the areas that permit off-roading:

There’s an information page for each location with a description, permitted activities, trail maps, pictures, regulations and links to resources for the area.

Maps of off-roading areas in southern California

This map has been updated to include all the off-roading areas in southern California. It now covers from Primm to Bakersfield, and south to the border. Use the filter to limit results to OHV or Motor Vehicles for street legal areas.

If you plan on off-roading in a national forest, you need to check out the Motor Vehicle Use Map(MVUM) before you go. Forest roads and trails have a variety of limitations on the dates they're open and the types of vehicles that are allowed use them. There are links to the Motor Vehicle Use Maps in the Trail Finder.
