Has anyone played at Killpecker? I'm considering a trip out there with friends this summer and information on the internet isn't overly thorough. We'd be a mix of vehicles, RVs, Tents, etc. My understanding is that the dunes are pretty large with plenty of room to play. What's the camping situation? From what I can tell there are a few pit toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, but no running water at all.

I have been there once, about 15 years ago though, and in a sand rail. As I recall, the dunes are huge, plenty of room to play and there are several good camping and parking spots. I think @The Car Stereo Company and @WyoStorm may have been there a little more recently. Maybe those guys can give you a little more information.

There is one main parking area with restrooms but there are other more primative sites you could use. Some of my group tried the dunes and found them quite soft but others have said they should be doable. I'm not into the sand and prefer exploring the endless trails out there. They are not hard to get to from highway 191 unless the rains hit! I'll be out there a few times between late July and September so hit me up.

I'm right in the middle of totality so I'll be close to home that day but if you guys are there over the weekend (19th-20th), I might be able fire up Thunder Beast for a Red Desert trip!

Yup, the plan would be to arrive Thurs or Fri and probably stay through Tuesday or so.
