We’ve finalized the details for our next adventure. The starting point will be Carson City, NV. We’ll be covering 600 off-road miles over 2 days. Saturday will likely be a long day as we’ll need to cover 400 miles. The trail is fast so we should have no issues covering the mileage.
Our adventure is free and open to all capable trucks. The Devils Express will take us over sections of the original Pony Express Trail along with some cool sites like an old Ghost Town and The Devils Caldron.

As usual, there are some requirements which I believe most everyone has. None the less, here they are:
-50 watt vhf radio
-GPS - Preferably lowrance. If you don’t have a lowrance let me know and we can figure something out.
-2 spares - flats happen all the time in the desert and you don’t want to have to call it a day if you get just one. -Several times we’ve had someone get 2 flats.
-ALL maintenance done and truck running in good working order. If you have a small problem with your truck it almost always becomes a big problem on the trail.
We will be remote camping Saturday night so there will be no facilities. This being the case, there are several must haves for the Devil Express (In addition to normal preparations).
-Enough water & food for two days - We will have 2 gas stops on Day 1 and two on Day 2. We will be eating lunch on the trial both days. We will eat dinner and breakfast at camp.
-Tent
-Sleeping bag
-Toilet paper - We will be primitive camping with no facilities. Nearest town will be 35 miles away.
-Flashlight
-Warm clothing - It might get cold at night.
Suggested items:
Firewood - If everyone can bring a small bundle we should have enough for a blazing camp fire.
Plan
We’ll be meeting at the Del Taco in Carson City at 7AM sharp on Saturday September 19th.
Address: 3780 U.S. 395 - Carson City, NV 89705 - There are two Del Taco’s in Carson City so make sure you are at the correct address.
· Saturday
o 7am - Gather at meet spot in Carson City gassed up and ready to go. We’ll load map files, air down, and have a quick drivers meeting.
o 7:30am - Departure
· Sunday
o 6:30am - Get our day started by eating breakfast and packing up camp.
o We should arrive back in Carson City around 5pm-8pm depending on our pace.
***On a side note, we've had a few participants ask how we fund our expenses for putting on the pre-runs and group events, and the truth is, we are self-supported for most of our events.
Although our local group runs are always free, we are more than happy (and appreciative) to accept donations from participants, which will go directly towards EXO pre-running and web maintenance expenses, to further improve future runs.
