El Coyote Baja Run

June 18th - 23rd 2015

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRHQ0zsxNxM

This Baja expedition will be a 6 day/5 night adventure. The course that the Raptor Expeditions Crew has put together will leave you mesmerized. They have pre-run and mapped out a different 800 mile on a course that will allow you to truly experience Baja by both its stunning beauty and adrenaline pumping trails.

On this 6 day 5 night journey you'll experience 70% Raptor friendly trails as well as, run a small portion of the Score Baja 1000 race course so you can witness 1st hand what some of these professional off-road drivers put themselves and their trucks through. The route planned will end each day at an authentic Baja style hotel and the group will enjoy dinner together as tell stories from the day.

This expedition will start with a ‘meet and greet’ in San Diego (1 mile from the border). Once the entire group is there, a quick “border crossing drivers meeting” will take place. Then the entire group will cross the border together. We’ll take a scenic drive along the Pacific Ocean to the St. Nicholas Hotel in Ensenada. After check-in we will all meet up for the driver meeting and dinner. This will allow for any one to ask questions or address any concerns they might have.

Day 1.
Early morning your adventure will begin as we head South toward the Baja pinunisla to the Old Mill Hotel in city of San Quintin. This is roughly a 170 mile day, it will allow you experience what lays ahead on this expedition. In San Quintin we’ll enjoy freshly caught fish and carne asada at the Old Mill.

Day 2.
Departing early for the longest drive day of the trip. We’ll convoy on the main Hwy 1 and fuel up in El Rosario before we hit the dirt and make our way to the Bay of LA. This will be close to a 300 mile day. The driver will need to conserve their gas as they weave their way through the Baja Cactus (pecten-aboriginum) in this section. If all goes as planned we’ll reach the Bay of LA to see the night fall on the Sea of Cortez.

Day 3.
After putting in 2 long days in the dirt a special R&R day is planned for the 3rd day. We will be in the Bay of LA located on the Sea of Cortez. Here, we can enjoy the pleasures of Baja, as we relax on the beach or swim in the pool (located right on the sand) and enjoy freshly caught fish and the fastest tacos in Baja. Also, a private boat can be rented for those who are interested in fishing. Cost is $100 per head. This is not included in the price. The boats hold 5-6 people. Please note you must bring all your own equipment and you will have to catch your own bait. For more info on the fishing please email me directly.

Day 4.
Departing the Bay of LA we’ll head to the legendary CoCo’s Corner. Getting there the true Baja Raptor way will make this task a little harder then you think. The planned route will take us on the Baja 1000 race course but only for about 40 miles. Once we are done visiting at CoCo’s we’ll be off to San Felipe. There you will be taking some of the most breathtaking views in Baja. Once we arrive in San Felipe we will have our awards dinner and sponsor raffle.

Day 5.
We saved the best for last on this expedition! With an early morning wakeup call we’ll depart and be right on the dirt. We’ll head North on some portions of the El Bandito runs and finish our adventure on the Compadre trail. Once every one has completed the route we will exit to the U.S. through the Tecate boarder crossing.
