Any interest in a mid july AZ run?

I don't know if I did something wrong, but I just went to exit 199 and the wash is closed for flood restrictions until 7/31.

The gate is firmly locked. ?????

Dammit that's no good. Will work up back up plan by tonight.

Haha. I have one trail I know will work and i'll hit my book up to find something else as well.

Alright gents, changes are inbound, I'm plotting the route now, but we're gonna be going to the opposite side of Phoenix, up in Wickenburg. As of right now the route I laid out is about 40 miles of dirt.

The plan is to start in Wickenburg, hit the Buckhorn creek trail and then run south on Castle Hotsprings Road to the Vulture Mountain Trail. Lots of old mines and some ghost towns on this trip. I'm going to be calling to verify these trails are open tomorrow and then looking at doing a pre-run of the route.

That's the route I used to run in my caprice wagon. Well sort of.

So what do you think? Having done it will it be a good one?

Yes. Been a long time (20ish years). I never got to Castle HS. I never diviated from the graded road. I know I'll enjoy it.
