So I used these corner brackets under my bed cover.

Everbilt 4 in. Zinc-Plated Heavy Duty Corner Brace (2-Pack)-15446 - The Home Depot

And then I took a L bracket like this

and bent it into a U shape. Propane and MAP gas torches I had were not hot enough to bend it, so I found a plumbing buddy that had an Acetylene torch. I then painted them black with some bed liner spray.





These are just some cheap chinese knockoffs since I needed four (4) of them.

Also bought universal covers for them. I plan to add a zip tie to make sure they don't come off on the trail or getting hit by branches.
