Its worth the trip... Hands down most fun you can have in the snow with the truck.

What basic assortment of tools do you guys usually pack?

D rings, tow rope, tire iron, jack, antifreeze (ask me why), spare thermostat (ask me why), cooler for drinks, road snacks, shovel, camera, gps, flashlight, socket set, screwdrivers, first aid kit. That should get you started. It's mostly just running forrest service roads, so nothing too harsh......

I bring my Craftsman set and couple other specific tools.
Rest is trail gear and fluids such as PS Fluid(Actually ATF fluid for the raptor)
Lots of windshield fluid and windhield washer fluid booster.
Spray bottle with windshield washer fluid works great for cleaning off lights and windows.
