It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife! Thanks for your help getting unstuck and your generosity if I had ever got stuck leaving. She's getting fixed as we speak. Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder. Im driving a honda element for the time being and hearing my exhaust in the video :win:. Saving for all this gear to meet these run requirements, see you next time!

Nice recovery, great teamwork, wife points all good and everything, I was waiting for a blue raptor to show up playing the Star spangled banner.

Consider a kinetic rope instead of shock loading the system with that tow strap, or maybe I didn't see clearly but it looks like you shocked loaded the strap (I've heard of blown CVs once when snatching)

I've also been told that if you perform a recovery In reverse using the motors weight to plant the front end for max traction/speed/energy. Would that have worked here? maybe not?

I mention it to see what you guys think, not to criticize.

And yes, nice exhaust getting unstuck, hahah. Lol

Well I frayed my tow strap pulling out the Raulster. His Raptor had no tow points on the front and I had to wrap my strap around the frame mounts. Because of this I also took it easy at first to limit damage.

After getting stuck myself I had to change my plan and after all said and done Raul had a little bit of cosmetic damage that can be fixed with a little touch up paint.

I have never seen anyone do damage while pulling in reverse but for 20+ years all the people I've recovered and help others doing the recovery have been do by going forward. In the Jeep world it was always a given the drive-line was strong going forward not reverse at least when it come to shock and awe type of recoveries.

You do have a good point though with a kinetic recovery rope though, that is probably a better choice so I think I'll add that to my recovery gear.

That rope was a snatch strap and even in reverse, that sand was really loose. Hopefully more trucks next time!

Yes I noticed that right away, seems like the rears weren't hooking up so reverse wouldn't have helped.

However, 300lbs of gear in the bed would have helped plus airing down to 20 psi but I'm all Monday morning quarterback so just ignore me,

I think you get extra credit for reporting damage in the "what did I do to my raptor today" thread

Damage sucks but it's good for a war story,
