Sierra Snow Run - 2/23/13

The start - Bigg50, iHaveGas (and wife), MB Rap (and son), ruffstuff (and dog), NosBusa.


Made it to Uncle Tom's Cabin ...


Hey, since Bigg50 is stuck, lets toss iHaveGas's Raptor into the deep snow too!


Sig Alert. Traffic jam on the interstate ...


This guy was driving by himself on street tires. Bigg50 pulled him out. To get past him, he had to drive backwards a couple of miles! He had crazy good reverse driving skillz.


The end of the trail ... for some of us. The new start for Bigg50, MB Rap, and NosBusa. They went back up on the trail.

Bigg50 in a 4 to 5 foot snowbank. This is why you should not text and drive. Lol

Yeah... the key phrase there is that you left us! lol

Basically we met another group of trucks and had to back out (in the dark) even farther than that Ranger! Of course there were several more trips to the ditch...

We are back to civilization now. Pictures tomorrow.

nothing like driving in reverse in deep snow at night.......

A review of lessons learned and observations:

-Let the recovery vehicle snatch/drag the stuck vehicle out. Giving the stuck vehicle gas results in burying the wheels.

-Snow is wet. Wear waterproof boots.

-There is no replacement for deep treads.

-There is no replacement for a winch.

-Compared to Jeeps and Toyotas, the Raptor sinks in deep snow like the Titanic.


... and the #1 lesson - texting while driving will put you in a ditch. lol

Glad to hear you guys had a great time... Wish I could have been cold wet too.. I was the winch guy sp maybe next time.. I am soo looking forward to Lost coast run...
