Over on SVTPerformance.com a member had his brand new Shelby re-painted. He removed the vinyl stripes from the car and had them painted on as well. The after shots look outstanding to say the least. There is absolutely no comparison between OEM paint application vs a professional/high quality re-spray.
I don't know everyone else's opinion but the paint quality on these $60,000+ vehicles from Ford leave a lot to be desired. If you're someone who prefers the show over the go, I would think paint quality, clarity and depth would be high on your list of things to address on your specialty vehicle. Just as tires, suspension and racks would be high on someone else's list for a pre-runner.
In the end, it all depends on what you want out of the ownership experience. Many buy Raptors to off road, others do not. Many see the current performance levels of the truck as a launching board to greater things, others think it's a trophy truck off the assembly line compared to what they are ever going to use the trucks for.
In the world of spending $5,000 on wheels/tires, $5,000 on winches/bumpers/cages, and $10,000 on additional suspension goodies; I don't think $5-10,000 on a high quality re-spray is too far of a stretch for some people.
