Thanks for the input guys, I ended up ordering this: http://www.millerwelds.com/products/mig/product.php?model=M00245 Mainly because it was in my price range, does 110V or 220V and can weld up to 3/8" steel which I think is probably the upper limit of what I would ever be building, if I'm welding something heavier gauge than that I would want it done professionally. Let me know what you guys think, as I have until Monday to change my mind.

nice pick. if i remember correctly thats 3/8's in a single pass so it can weld thicker just need to do more then one pass and make sure you've got the proper joint design

Since we have some professional a welders in here and I am not. I was gonna try and stick weld a mercruser block that I have that is cracked. It is still in the boat. I was gonna remove it and attempt to weld the two cracks in the water jackets with some nickel rod. I have seen a couple shows/articles about this. Anyone have any experience welding a cast block?

Right!! I have also seen where people have peened the weld to help relieve the stress of cooling. What do you guys think would be easier a eng. block or reinforcing some spindle carriers. I gotta practice on something.
Sorry for the hijack!!!

Miller 211...I like the option of 110 or 220. I use on farm equipment all the way to welding a canoe.
