Here is my bed. Pace Edwards cover will shut, unless I stack the 2nd spare. 4 bed bolts (see post above) around the tire. 2 in the very front of the bed under the cover's box, which hold down two cargo/tool boxes with recovery gear, compressor, etc. Before RPG Stage 3 install, I had two more in the middle that held down cooler. May add them back in a slightly different location because I am not sure if the chain will work. This is essentially the set up I ran at the Texas Raptor Run (except I pulled the cooler and gas cans). Everything stayed in place.

Two quick fists mounted on top of a 2x4 painted black (although this one needs some touch up - looks pretty good when painted flat black; almost matches the spray in liner). Bought some longer screws to go thru 2x4 and sidewall of bed. Hard part is tightening the nuts on the back side - takes a long arm, long wrench or both. I believe I bought some bigger washers as well. 2x4 is perfect fit - allows handle and head to press up against sidewall once you tighten down the quick fists.

Was skeptical that this would hold but survived TRR. Glad it worked - hard to find a place to put shovel(s) and axe.

Hi All,

:birgits_tiredcoffee Wanted to find a way to securely strap the spare tire to the inside of the bed. I want to get a bed cage, but that is not possible at this moment...

Below is a link to a product I found surfin the net, and wanted to see if anyone has any experience with a this product or a similar one. . .specifically if it serves its purpose while off the paved highway. . .Thanks :peace:

The spare tire on your truck exceeds the weight limit of this tie down by 2. I would not use it and expect it to hold. There are many more less expensive and easy to do modifications quoted on this thread already. If you need more please ask i have other ideas.. I also built my own rack system for about 200 in parts.. Went all out and had it powder coated for 100 so i am total of 300 in to it not including Hi lift jack or lights... It comes in at a trim 130 pounds before I add all the extras... (hi lift spare tire gas cans etc.. )
