I'm debating between the two for my Raptor. I like the fact that the Pre-Runner is a direct bolt on, but really like the styling of the Raceline. Has anyone installed the race line? If so, do you trim the frame horns so much that you cannot re-install the stock front bumper? I'm leary of cutting on the frame.

The below questions were posted by Raptor 911 in the RPG Vendor Feedback Form, but the thread is stagnant. I have called RPG multiple times and left messages, but no call back...

1 - How much of the frame horn do you have to cut?
2 - Can you post pics of a frame horn that has been cut?
3 - How many bolts are holding on the bumper?
4 - I assume once you cut the frame horns you can never reinstall the factory bumper?
5 - Is there any way, this bumper can accommodate a license plate?

Thank you.

I have called RPG also and when I do get a hold of them, they tell me they will post pics soon of the frame horns on their web site. That was 2 months ago.

But I agree with you, the race-line looks awesome but comes with a price - cutting the frame horns means you will never be able to install your OEM bumper. If you really want to reinstall the factory bumper then you have to weld back on the piece you cut off.

I think the guys at RPG are great BUT they spend way too much time driving their trucks or working on special projects which means no time left for reg folks. :(

I'm pretty sure if you check out G's build thread (E63) he outlines and shows pictures of the cutting of the frame rails for the raceline bumper. check it out.

Also, hit up RaptorAddict, he sells the RPG products and also has installed the raceline on his Raptor, and he owns a body shop, so he should be able to help out with info too.

Which if you look at the two pictures, you can sorta figure out that were the bungie is strapped around the frame was a "approximation" of where the cut line goes.

That should give you a good idea on about how much of the frame gets chopped.
