Power tailgate lock?

Going to put one on my truck, but remember reading somewhere about compatibility issues with tailgate steps.

I know one brand was compatible and one wasn't, but for the life of me I can't find which was which.

I want to say it was the pop and lock. Is that right?

I have the pop and lock on my 2012 with no issues.

Cool! I almost bought one this morning, but just wanted to be 100% sure it worked with the tailgate step. Off to amazon I go! Thanks!

I gave out 6 or 7 actuators for the tailgate lock to guys here for the May repair party... I know at least two guys have them installed and it is just simple actuator with a generic bracket you bend to fit and they work well, sell for about 7.95 on amazon....

Did you install it yourself or did you have it done? If you did install it then where did you run the wires? Was it a difficult install?
