Vinyl wrap on fender flares

I think I'm gonna wrap my fender flares in matt black. Has anyone done this yet (Birdman?). Is it easy to do? Is there a "process" to it? Thanks.

Spring starts in 6 days.:grd:

i gotta have Raptizzle or someone else give me the run down on how to remove the fender flares without breaking all those clips so I can just drop them off in the morning to the vinyl place.

Well I can tell you just go get some extra plastic black push pins and don't worry about saving the factory ones! Got mine Line-X and had about half of them I put back with new ones. Once you pull out the black push pins they should pull straight off to the side. Get the 15ct from your local auto store well worth going back with new.

Also, Vinyl is something you need to be very patient with! The hood took a few hrs and the pinstripes took another hr. The vinyl on the flares is going to be ok but with all the curves and edges you will need a propane torch to flash areas to make them shrink. Get a good squeeze and some distilled water to use under when smoothing all the air bubbles out along with the water too. If you get and air bubble lift back up and squeeze it back out!. I will take a good amount of time. I personally would take the flares to someone who does it everyday.

Great info ISFast and good call on the extra push pins!

All i can really say about those fender flares is that they are an absolute bitch. My body technicians get pretty bummed when it's time to remove the flares.
