Default Tuffy Box w/ OE Rear Floor Mat?
I picked up a new Tuffy Box for my SCAB from Sooner Raptor in the Garage Sale forum. I installed it last night and really like the box, but I have a question about how it sits on the floor in relation to the factory rear floor mat. The box sits over the rear few inches of the floor mat and once you bolt the box to the floor it sandwiches the floor mat tight enough that you can't remove it from the truck to clean it. I didn't read the instructions, but the install seemed pretty straight forward.

It seems that there's enough room between the top of the Tuffy Box and the bottom of the seat when it's folded down that I could probably make some spacers for below the box to keep enough space to be able to remove/install the floor mat. Anyone done anything like this?

That was my first thought and may be what I do, but I'd loose the lip that holds water in the floor mat. I don't usually have rear passengers, but when I do it's mostly in the winter when the roads are too bad for normal vehicles to venture out. My point is that the mat lip that holds the snow/water from peoples feet will be lost if I cut it to fit.

Mine is mounted the same way. I just leave it as the rear seats rarely get used. I just vacuum the mat and call it good

I hear ya, when catching some air it would be nice to not have my tools and stuff under the seat fly around or have the seat bottom flop up and down

I like your spacer idea. I also intend to get a couple straps to wrap around the box to keep it closed while having fun.

Baja, all you need to do is make two slices in the factory mat at the corners of the box and then let the edge of the mat bend upward along the front of the box.

If anyone is looking for one of these, someone on eBay has them for $149.95, with free shipping....
