I'm wanting to put a safe in my console, leaning towards a Tuffy but open to others.

My question is can I use the USB with a safe installed?

I usually have my phone plugged into the cable and laying in the cup holders when driving. I close the console lid on the cable but am concerned that the safe lid would bounce while driving and damage the cable.

I plugged into the USB port with a extension and ran it out from inside the bottom of the console, if you look at the bottom there is a space as well as a hole and the bottom rear of the console on both sides. I simply ran it out under and it's quick and easy to get to, I had actually did this before I did the console vault, as I didn't .ike the cord coming out of the console top with people resting their arm as well as mine on the cord.

Is the install easy, or does it require disassembling the console?

Just put one in. It's easy. Don't have to disassemble the console. The install video on Lock'er Down website shows you how to do it. 10-15 minute job.

Late to the party on this one, do you still have the safe?
