Hey is anyone having problems after you wash your truck the brake lights stay on. It seems that evey time I wash my truck or it rains out and get the 3RD brake light wet and then is starts but after it drys out the brake lights go out and start worhing right again. Please help. Took my truck to the daler and they told my because I have after market lights that the warranty would not cover it and they wouldn't even look at it.

Look for any spots that water may be getting in and getting into your wiring. Even the stock 3rd brake light assembly has had a few instances where water got in and caused the hill descent control fault light to come on. It could easily cause a short and allow your lights to work on and off or stay on.

I had the same problem were the rain would get in and short out the LED lights and cause the hill descent to malfunction and the traction control would malfunction also. also when that happens i also found out that you have no brake lights when hitting the brakes. the dealer replaced mine under warranty and just recently the new one they installed did it once. A lot of people are having this problem with these. i started a thread awhile back on this same issue. This is an issue they should address i think. I disconnected the LED plug and it went back to normal. When you take the 3rd brake light off you have 2 plugs going to the white lights and the LED's. The LED's are the problem not the white bulbs. you can leave them hooked up.until you can get it looked at if you wanted to do that.

There was a TSB for the 2010's. I had mine replaced at dealership. was doing the same thing, brake lights would stay on and once and a while hill descent control fault would flash. Bring this to your dealer.

They are only suppose to work when you hit the brakes. That's all the LED's are for. Your ok with yours.

no, the three led's in the 3rd brake light should be on when marker lights are on and they should brighten when brakes applied.
