Hey Joe what winch extension did you get? I looked at the Viking one I thought it was and the 3/8" one(largest they list) says it has a maximum winch rating of 10,000lb. I know my winch and yours are only rated 500lb above that so I was just curious.

I use I tunes and just search Samson. It's a white logo with a guy holding a lions mouth open.

Weight for me. In addition to the recoil.
But some guys swear by cable. It's really preference. And what you're going to use it for. The steel cable is much more rugged.

For me I went with synthetic because I have had pieces of wire rope in my hands enough times in my life already. Plus synthetic won't snap back and hurt someone the way metal cable will.

Looks like I'm going with synthetic. Are any of you using what came with the recon kit? Looks like a 30ft synthetic rope.
